One Room Challenge – Urban Chic She Den

It’s time, it’s here! I’m so excited and exhausted all at the same time. 🙂 I’m talking about the One Room Challenge Hosted by Linda of Calling it Home and House Beautiful! Twice a year we as Bloggers get to participate in a 6-week makeover challenge. It’s an opportunity to push our creativity and work with some amazing sponsors. It’s your opportunity to be inspired by all the amazing DIY’s, Makeovers and more!

One Room Challenge She Den Office Urban Chic Industrial Design Decor Makeover Fixer Upper DIY White Wood Decorating Inspiration Art Craft Piano Music Room If you have followed me for a while you may have seen my previous One Room Challenge spaces. If not, you can view them here…ORC1, ORC2, ORC3. Each one different, each one made our home that much better and gave us a new space to enjoy!

So what’s on the agenda this time? I’ve got two words for you…SHE DEN! 🙂 What’s a She Den? It’s a She Shed, but indoors and with air condition. 😉 Living in Florida, it’s a necessity. I’m creating a space that my girls and I will use on a daily basis. It will be an office, a craft room, a music room and our escape with something for everyone!

    How does that sound???

So we have 6 weeks to make this space over! I’m going to share some of my inspiration spaces with you. Each photo I’m sharing has a little bit of something that inspired this makeover!

Let me give you some background on the room I chose. Like many we have a formal dining room in our home…but also, like many, we never used it. We aren’t formal people, we like to gather and eat in the open kitchen/family room or on the back porch. After removing the dining room furniture it became a place for the piano and what we thought would be a fun game room. We even gave it a whimsical Modern Alice In Wonderland theme. In time though, since the room wasn’t being used much it just became my decor storage/hoarding room. It was the place I put all my new finds, treasures and collections, especially if I didn’t want Mr. BeesNBurlap to see it. 😉 Now don’t get me wrong it was useful because I need a space to store items for clients and styling projects but it was quickly becoming the prettiest, cluttered space EVER!  Be honest…do you have a space like that? Do you want to do more with it? That’s what I decided to do!!! Maybe my She Den will get you going!!!

How about a little more inspiration.

     Let’s Make this OUR Challenge!!!

So I want to do something different with this Challenge. Rather than tell you everything I’m going to do, I’m going to share my inspiration and my top picks for my design choices. Each week I’ll focus on an area of the room and share what I narrowed my choices down to. I want you to choose what you think I went with and I’d love for you to design your own She Den based on my top picks!! If you’re on Pinterest create a She Den board and pin items I share and maybe some you discover and let’s create a room we love together. For fun, I want you to take a guess at what items you think I chose and we can compare your guesses with the reveal at the end! 🙂

I wish I could have incorporated everything in these inspiration pictures but it’s only 1 room!

I’m super excited to be working with some of my favorite Sponsors on this room:

Bed, Bath & Beyond, Joss & Main, Milton & King , Lamps Plus and Rugs USA. I’m also excited to be sharing some small shops and artists with you along the way.

I hope you follow along with me on Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook and here on the Blog to see the progress each week. I would love to see you create your own She Den or see if you can guess what I chose to compare at the end. Be sure to see what all the other bloggers are doing as well by visiting the One Room Challenge official site.
