5 Steps to a Beautiful Entryway!
We use our side entry a lot, more than our front door. So I wanted to give it a good look. See how I created a welcoming space with only a few pieces.
Define the Area
Rugs are great for wiping your feet, but they are also great for defining an area. For this space, I used a 3×5…not too big, not too small. I also used one that is machine washable and had a beautiful abstract print. I love how it feels like Art on the floor!
Add Seating
Because we typically take off our shoes when we come in, having a spot to sit on is necessary. Otherwise, you get really good at balancing on one foot while putting your shoes on. Here are two scenarios I’ve had…one with a bench and one with a cool accent chair.
and another option…
Add Art
Nothing adds a touch of WOW like a piece of art…or pieces. But for this space, I wanted big impact, so I went with one large and special piece. I had my eye on this guy for a while. I was able to get it from 1000museums. They had such a huge selection it was hard to choose. But I think he goes perfectly here and definitely makes a statement.
Don’t Forget Lighting
The easiest way to create a moody space is by adding lighting. But this spot didn’t have an outlet, so what is a girl to do. Well thanks to these sweet battery-operated lamps and lights, I was able to add this perfect Gallery Light. I can even control it with a remote. It adds the perfect low light and creates a mood of it’s own.
Add a Little Texture
You know I never do a space without adding some texture. Whether it’s the faux sheepskin on the chair or the tall grass in the terracotta pot. Adding pieces like that will again create a mood, add to the space and make it feel like HOME.
